What Is the Zimmerman Advertising Program?

The Zimmerman Advertising Program (ZAP) is a unique business program started at the University of South Florida (USF) thanks to a generous donation from alumnus Jordan Zimmerman. The program is designed to prepare the next generation of advertising leaders, both nationally and internationally.

As a highly selective program, ZAP specifically looks for success-driven students who have an interest in marketing and advertising, meet the academic requirements for the Muma College of Business, and are creative individuals.

Application Steps

Step 1

Apply to USF as a high school senior (this program does not accept transfer students), select advertising as your major, submit your transcripts and SAT/ACT test scores, and wait to receive a decision from the university.

Step 2

Once admitted to USF, apply to the Zimmerman Advertising Program via our online application. The recruiter will receive your application and review your academic profile to see if you meet the requirements for the Bulls Business Network (BBN).

Step 3

For students who meet the BBN requirements, an interview with the ZAP admissions committee is required to move forward with your application. Interviews are offered on campus or via Skype. A link will be sent to you to select the best date and time.

Step 4

Submit an application to the ZAP LLC via the housing portal and submit all required fees and documents to complete your housing application.

Step 5

Your application will be reviewed by the ZAP Admissions Committee and receive a decision within 4-6 weeks. If accepted into the program, you must then commit to living in the Living-Learning Community.

Students enrolled in ZAP are also required to pay the LLC fee of $225.00 per semester, which is used to cover the cost of ZAP activities and events for the first year only.
